VFX group project.
House designs/and ideas for the project
In these screenshots we have some of the group ideas put together to create medieval props that we will include into our footage. In this first design we wanted to include planks of wood on the floor and barrels because people in the medieval era had to make their own houses and a lot of farmers and low class people didn’t have much money to pay others for help.
Medieval Houses Reference Images.
These are some of the images we used to create the house design.
House design 2
Here is another design that we as a group have created of the house that we will duplicate and create a small village in the footage. In this design we tried to include hay bale because in the medieval era a lot of people had their own farms and from the crops they would collect the grass that has been cut and make hay bale.
Maya Wire-frame of the house designs.
This is the Maya wire frame which shows a better perspective of the house. We tried to keep the shapes simple so that when we texture the house it will not be too complicated.
Most of the shapes are simple spheres and cylinders extruded, this was a team plan so that we have simple faces to texture. We also made a surface for the house so that we texture it with a similar ground texture that comes close to what we have in the footage.
Medieval Props
As a group we decided to create some extra props that we might or might not use so that we can fill in empty spaces in the footage and make it look realistic.
Props Reference Images
Here are some of the images we used to create the props, as you can see we tried to recreate the exact object so that when we import it into out footage it looks real.
